About Short & Sweet
A friendly Toastmasters club where public speaking becomes achievable for everyone
What Is Toastmasters?
A worldwide community of people helping each other become better speakers
Global Organization
Toastmasters International has over 270,000 members in 14,200+ clubs across 149 countries. When you join one club, you're part of a global network.
Proven Program
The Pathways learning program is a structured curriculum with 300+ competencies in public speaking and leadership. You progress at your own pace.
Learn by Doing
Every meeting is hands-on. You speak, you listen, you evaluate. There are no lectures, only practice and supportive feedback from fellow members.
How Did Short & Sweet Toastmasters Club Start?
Short & Sweet was born during the COVID-19 pandemic. When lockdowns moved Toastmasters meetings fully online, many clubs continued running two to three hour sessions. Over time, participants began to feel the effects of Zoom fatigue.
On 17 October 2021, Short & Sweet Toastmasters Club was established with a fresh idea: a one-hour meeting format that keeps all the essentials of a Toastmasters session (prepared speeches, table topics, and speech evaluations) while keeping members focused and energised.
Today, the club runs a monthly two-hour hybrid meeting on the fourth Sunday, alongside on-demand one-hour sessions that members can request anytime they need to practise.
What Makes Our Club Special
Short & Sweet was built around five principles that help you grow faster
Speaking Is for Everyone
We believe anyone can become a good speaker. Whether you're nervous about your first speech or preparing for a keynote, we meet you where you are.
Hybrid Meetings
Our meetings combine in-person and online attendance. You get the energy of a live audience with the flexibility to join from anywhere via Zoom.
On-Demand Mini Meetings
Got a presentation next week? Request an online mini meeting anytime to rehearse your speech and get feedback. No need to wait for the regular meeting.
Personal Mentoring
Every member is paired with an experienced mentor who provides one-on-one guidance, including coaching for contests and workplace presentations.
Excellent Speech Evaluations
Our evaluators are trained to give detailed, encouraging feedback. Every speech you deliver comes with specific, actionable advice to help you improve.
